Under the Tuscan Sun - Frances Mayes I have some difficulty with books about Americans moving to small European villages and trying to fit in. While this book wasn't nearly as condescending as A Year in Provence, it still smacks of that fawning love affair we have with European villages, as though they are quaint little doll's houses we can use to fulfull our dreams of "living pretty."
