The Story of Ferdinand - Robert Lawson, Munro Leaf I didn't read this until I had a child. I wish I had! What a beautiful story. One of my favorite musicians, Elliott Smith, had Ferdinand tattooed on his arm and it was easy to see why. Ferdinand is the mascot for boys who are sweet and sensitive. Now I've read it many times and I love it each time.
