A Lesson in Secrets - Jacqueline Winspear It might just be my mood and my distractability at this time. But I had a hard time connecting with this story and found myself frustrated by Maisie's tendency to think she knows what's best for everyone. She's a bit of a busy body who puts me in mind of C. S. Lewis's quote, "She's the sort of woman who lives for others - you can tell the others by their hunted expression.”
I'm still going to read the next book, primarily because I love this era. It wasn't until after WWI that the Western World really began to understand the aftermath of wars. I find that period fascinating.
